Cousins

Here is a photo my Aunt Cookie sent me last week of my cousin Kellie's children, Jack and Scott, and Little Zeina. The photo was taken a few weeks ago during intermission at the circus. Jack and Scott ate their snacks sitting in their seats, while Zeina chose to use the free time to practice walking up and down the stairs.

It has been a simply wonderful summer full of family and friends. Zeina has been able to spend time with cousins from both sides of our family and my sweet cousin Kellie came to Houston to see me. Family is the MOST IMPORTANT thing in the world and I have ENJOYED seeing everyone this summer.

I really want Zeina to KNOW her cousins, especially if she is an only child. I know how important this relationship is. Since I do not have brothers and sisters, my cousins are really special to me. I've probably not been good about sharing my feelings with them and letting them know just how much I love them. They are the keepers of our childhood adventures and pranks. And, they are the closest relatives in age to me. We are all adults now, and have our own families, but I enjoy seeing them and remembering past holidays, birthdays and fun times.
