Sea Shells by the Sea Shore

we spent the morning at the beach,
searching for sea shells
and playing in the water.
i cherished every smile and giggle from little z.

there is always so much fun
to be had at the beach, like:
digging in the sand
jumping in the water
looking for sea shells and
dancing on the splash pad.

i love the beach
and every time we go it brings back happy childhood memories.
i hope zeina gets these same warm reflections
about her early years some day.

we had lunch at a cafe on the Arabian Gulf.
zeina ate french fries and toast
and surprised me by drinking my mint lemonade beverage.

"1-2-3, go!" is Zeina's signal to run into the water.
and, after charging the waves,
she turns around and giggles
while looking at us.
my heart swells with love.

our girl has us completely smitten.
