Spain: Segundo Dia

Zeina and I are posing in the Plaza de Toros de Ronda, the oldest purpose-built space for fighting bulls in the world. It is considered one of the most picturesque bullrings around, and, in recent history, was featured in a Madonna video (Take a Bow). Ronda is considered the birthplace of modern bullfighting and it was famous long before Madonna. All I can tell you is that Zeina was SUPER EXCITED to run in circles in the sand!
We spent the afternoon in Ronda, a small Spanish city located in the mountains. Here is our family photo taken at the heart of the city which sits on a plateau of a large rock outcropping.
Because of the cliffs, Ronda was one of the last Moorish cities to fall during the Reconquest of Spain by the Catholic monarchs. The view was breathtaking. We took a tour of the old city on a horse drawn carriage.

Zeina was REALLY excited to see this horse outside of the bullring. She asked her Daddy if she could ride him. She was NOT SCARED at all! She took a ride around the square with the horse's owner. She was not anxious about leaving us at all!

In the morning we visited an adventure park that features animals in a semifree roaming environment. When we walked up this peacock spread his feathers and strutted around. He was so beautiful that I had to include him in the photos!
