Tourists

With my Mom visiting us here in Saudi, it has given us a good excuse to be tourists. So, this morning, we took a bus tour and visited the old towns of Qatif and Tarut. On the trip we visited two souks, an old fort, ancient winding roads and ended with a picnic lunch by the beautiful sea (the weather was amazing today, 75 degrees and sunny!). In this picture, we are near a fort that was built in Tarut almost 1,000 years ago. Mom isn't in the photo as she was behind the camera. Exploring with my mother is GREAT fun; especially since she taught world history for more than 30 years and knows all kinds of interesting facts. Little Z was so good on the trip. The bus departed at 7 a.m. and didn't return to our compound until 1:30 p.m. and Zeina didn't miss a beat!!!!
