Stay At-Home Mommy

Is the BEST title. Ever. And, I've had a lot of them.

For many years I defined myself by my job. So, when I first left the workforce, I felt a bit lost. I never missed the job, the travel or its demands, but I had a difficult time putting my finger on who I was.

The down time allowed me to work on myself, my values and my goals. And, I found, none of them had anything to do with the jobs I had done for pay.

So, after I recovered from the stress of Zeina's arrival, coupled with our move to the Middle East, I've started to remember who I am. And, in the past few months, I've realized that I REALLY love being a Wife and Mommy!

On our compound, many times I am referred to as "Zeina's Mommy" or "George's wife". And, you know what? It feels good. Really, really good.

Now, some of you are laughing right now, because you know how easy my situation is here in Saudi, but there are advantages to moving to this side of the world and "When in Rome..."

There may come a day when I decide to explore working again, but for right now the title of Stay At-Home Mommy feels just right. By the way, this is an OLD picture of Little Z and I, but it is one I really like of both of us, mother and daughter.
