On Thursday we were out to eat at the mall when Little Z threw a big league tantrum about a straw sitting on the table. She wanted to put it in a cup and drink like mommy and daddy. She would not let us show her how to suck from the straw or put the straw in the lid of the cup. She was frustrated that she could not figure it out and refused any help from either of us. We finally decided to just ignore the scene happening at our table. Then, like magic, Z got very quiet for a few moments and we looked over and she had gotten the straw in the lid, lifted the cup with both hands and was sucking out of the straw like it was something she had been doing for months. After she finished her first sip, she put the cup down clapped her hands and cheered for herself. We were just astonished, but joined in on the cheering! Everyone at the restaurant was laughing along with us!
