A Day of Fun Science

We spent the afternoon at the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Center for Science and Technology, located in Al Khobar, right on the beautiful Saudi beach near where we live. You may not believe me when you read this, but we think it is better than Epcot Center in Orlando, Florida! George, Zeina and I had a blast watching fish swim in the aquarium, pressing buttons, solving puzzles and learning from the scientific displays. The ENTIRE center is interactive (very hands-on, so Little Z really enjoyed herself!). There is also an IMAX theater showing educational films and a children's play area that fosters learning about various subjects from history to kitchen safety to learning to construct a building. In the picture posted, Zeina is running through a miniature Bedouin tent (she was SO EXCITED that she could actually touch EVERYTHING in the Center that she would not pose for a photo). The tent is part of the children's play area and is designed to educate children about Bedouin life here in Saudi. The kids are encouraged to not only look, but touch everything in the tent. Zeina had a REALLY good time because she had free roam to truly explore and experience!

It may be cooler than Epcot, but "Epcot" is a whole lot easier to say!!
