This morning I attended a ladies Christmas Tea hosted by the Protestant Fellowship. It was just fantastic and rivaled anything I've been to at the Junior League in Houston. There must have been close to 300 women in attendance. The food was amazing, the program was meaningful and the decorations were beautiful. At the end of the event, the lights were dimmed and everyone sang Silent Night while holding candles. I cried throughout the entire song. The holidays are always difficult for me. I miss my Daddy horribly and whenever I sing Christmas carols I think of him. The pain does fade with time, but not the warm memories. And, I wish my Mama was here with me too. I miss her so much, especially with the holidays approaching. Since moving overseas, one thing I have learned is that love continues to grow for your family and friends, even when you don't see them every day. The distance makes you really appreciate your time together.
